The company was started at the beginning of the 2006 by Desmond Juma Lusweti enthusiastic IT specialists who wanted to overcome the routine and create a company that would act in the market not only for business success but for the sake of contributing something to the society. Thus, the mission of the company was defined – to contribute to forward-looking transformation of the society.

Incorporated in 2010 the company engineers have over 17 years of cumulative experience in the provision of a broad range of IT services, Through the years, the company has successfully expanded its activities Whereas our largest client base is in Kenya, we have a significant portfolio of clients in several African countries as well as Europe and Iran.

2005

Registration

Optic technologies is registered as a Business Name in Kenya by Desmond Juma Lusweti. With a mission of installing financial solutions in Co-oparative societies in Kenya. i.e Bungoma Teachers Sacco, Nzoia Sugar Sacco, Kakamega Teachers Sacco,Kisumu,Migori,Tranzoia etc successfully developed the first Sacco system that running on Microsoft SQL Server 2000.

2007

Microsoft Systems Engineer

Optic Technologies ; appointed Microsoft system Engineer in Kenya successfully developed I-link financial system and point of Sale which the company sold to over 300 shops in East Africa. Optic Technologies Installed Fujitsu BS2000 Enterprise Server digital transformation by co-creating this extension SAP environment, replacing an almost entirely paper-based system with a standardized, automated platform,” for Mumias group of companies.

2008

DB-Broadcast

The Company launched DB-Broadcast transmission technologies for FM-Radio stations, which lead to installation of West FM, Must FM, Fish Fm and Nyota FM.

2009

Samcen Voting Congress System

OTL partnered with Chinese conference manufacturing Giant (SAMCEN) to come up with Samcen voting congress system. Specialized in the simultaneous interpretation system & wireless language distribution system, which is able to support 12 different foreign languages at the same time. The same year we also initiated video conferencing system with/without embedded MCU.

2010

Incorporation

Optic Technologies was incorporated as a private limited company. The same year we became instrumental in the installation of Congress system in Munich Government, Germany. The Mayor of Munich appreciated our SAMCEN brand.

2011

Samcen Language System

Optic installs Samcen language system at World Heritage conference in Nairobi Serena The company installed The HPE Integrity MC900 X Server for the Department of Defence (DOD) in Nairobi Eldoret and Gigil for both Enterprice and storage.. IN

2012

African Union summit

The Company rents language system in the 17th African Union summit in Accra Ghana.

2013

European Union

Optic Technologies installs SAMCEN Congress at the European Union branch in the Republic of Kenya. The same year we supplied 9 county assemblies with wireless conference systems. Optic Technologies installs SAMCEN Congress at Vihiga County assembly. Optic Technologies installs SAMCEN Congress at Kakamega County assembly. Optic Technologies installs SAMCEN Congress at Busia County assembly.

2014

Tanzania State House

OTL installs SAMCEN conference system at Tanzania state house became the nominated supplier of conference system for the government. Optic technologies (k) limited was rated 2nd Runner at Africa economic insight as the fastest growing young entrepreneur of the year , with a turnover of $2,900,000 under the leadership of Desmond Juma Lusweti at the Age of 33 years. Optic technologies launched the first intelligent voting congress system using Infra-red technology. Further explored markets all over the world and takes part in international famous audio & video Exhibition in Dubai, South Africa, Iran and Saudi Arabia. The same year the company installed congress system in Nigeria, Iran, Ghana and South Africa.

2016

Rwanda Convention Center

Optic technologies install complete 3000 units of complete SAMCEN Multimedia Conference system at Rwanda Convention Center in Kigali. Optic technologies install wireless conference system in the ministry of Justice of Ethiopia.

2017

Mandera & Garissa County, Kenya

President of Greece Mr. Prokopis Pavlopoulos successfully used SAMCEN conference system, and highly appraised of our intelligent products and services. Mandera county assembly goes full multimedia congress system from Samcen Work 90pc completed (contract worth KSH17, 960,000). Carissa county assembly goes full multimedia congress system from Samcen; Work completed (contract worth KSH 41,500,000)

2020

Tana River County & Zetech University, Nairobi, Kenya.
